- First place your mouthpiece on the neck.
- Put the reed on your mouthpiece holding the bottom of the reed with your thumb.
- Slide the ligature on its proper place and thigh the screw gently.
The all purpose of the « FL » ligatures is a minimal contact longitudinally with the mouthpiece while NO transversal contact.
Warning: If adjusting the mouthpiece on the neck, grasp it by the shank or by the beak with your thumb on the reed.
Holding the ensemble Mpc./Reed/Ligature by the ligature would have the ligature risk to move and, especially if your neck cork is thick, the force required to slide the mouthpiece would risk to brake your « Pure Brass » ligature.
So make sure your neck cork is properly adjusted.
