There are few people in the world who I would say are brilliant, even fewer who would be considered a genius. Without hesitation, I feel that Francois Louis fits into both categories. He has made playing the saxophone for me like it was when I first began: exciting, new, wanting to practice all day and basically really fun.

With his mouthpieces, reeds and ligatures already available and extraordinary, the only thing missing is a François Louis saxophone. I hope that day comes as I, along with the saxophone world, will be taken to the highest artistic level of proficiency.

I have been playing handmade François Louis mouthpieces, both wooden and silver, since 1989. In addition, I also use his ligatures and reeds. I just received a new Francois “Spectruoso” soprano mouthpiece that are available to anyone, from his new line. It is incredible. I will now be playing this instead of my wooden one that he made for me so many years ago. Believe me, not because the wooden one is deficient in any way, its that the new material is quite possibly more vibrant. I now have the new line of mouthpieces for my soprano, alto, tenor and baritone. Thank you Francois for your continued success.
